Larry Daniel Allen, Sr died Friday, November 20, 2020. He was a devoted Christian Minister, a beloved husband to his wife Tonya, devoted father and grandfather, and a loving brother and uncle.
Larry successfully retired from Brown University after 34 years of service, but will more importantly be remembered for his deep love of his God Jehovah, his family and his love for people. For over 30 years, Larry has served as a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His love and knowledge of the Bible was respected, and his warm love for his Christian brothers and sisters is deeply appreciated and benefited many, both in his family, the congregation and in the community.
Larry viewed it a privilege to serve rather than be serve. He set an excellent example for all especially the young ones in the Congregation getting together with them each week to share in the important work of preaching and teaching the Good News of the Kingdom. Additionally, he supported the building of various Kingdom Halls throughout the New England area as a member of the Regional Building Committee (RBC). When he served as an Elder in the Huntingtonview Congregation, he traveled throughout New England providing spiritual instruction and encouragement to the various congregations and communities they served.
Larry was an all around avid sportsman; his love for the game of pool was well known; he invited all who would come to go bowling and play basketball; not to mention his love of the game of chess and every now and then would pick up his fishing rod and go fishing with his grandson.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, many relatives, and friends.
